About Us

¡°Dewpore¡± porous pipe is a special pipe made with micro holes that is used for sub surface irrigation. The pipe is required to be installed under the soil and when water is provided with gravity, it uses the principle of osmosis to slowly release drops of water into the soil, at the roots of the plant. It is an excellent method of irrigation for crops, horticulture, floriculture and landscaping

INSTALLATION PROCESS

¡°Dewpore¡± porous pipe is a special pipe made
with micro holes that is used for sub surface irrigation.

GENERAL ARRANGEMENT OF LAYING DEWPORE PIPES

PROCESS

  1. Select a suitable place for placing a Local storage tank.. Use a Tank of at least 1000 ¨C 3000 liters.
  2. This should be on a pedestal. Its base should be about 10-12 ft. above the height of the land to be irrigated.
  3. Install a gravel filter at the inlet of the tank. This is absolutely necessary to filter the incoming water.
  4. Install a 100 micron screen filter at the main outlet of the tank. This is necessary to ensure that Dewpore does not get any suspended / free particles.
  5. Install a header pipe from the main outlet pipe of 3¡± or more size
  6. Lay lateral pipe from the header pipe till the place you want to go underground.
  7. Embed Dewpore at a depth of 8¡± to 10¡± underground.
  8. Distance between two Dewpore pipes should not be more than 2 feet.
  9. Maximum length to which you can go will change depending on the pressure of water you get and number of lines installed. Please check this with your installation agency. Please consult an irrigation or agriculture expert for proper installation. Information given above is only a basic guideline and is not sufficient for you to install it yourself.

TYPICAL LAYOUT OF POROUS PIPE AROUND TREE

PROCESS

Follow steps 1 to 5 as above

  1. Lay Lateral pipe from Stop valve of the ¡®Local Storage tank¡¯ or header if used up to the end of the line of trees. Use an end plug at the end of the line.
  2. This Lateral and the POROUS pipe should be embedded underground at a depth of about 6 - 8 inches.
  3. Embed a loop of POROUS pipe around the trunk of the tree at a distance of 6 ¨C 8 inches and at the same depth as that of lateral pipe. Complete the loop by connecting a ¡°Tee¡±. Place this loop in a manner so that the center outlet of the ¡°Tee¡± is towards the Lateral. Connect this center end of the ¡°tee¡± to the lateral (with a distance piece of lateral pipe if necessary) using a connector.
  4. When you open the stop valve at the outlet of the ¡®Local Storage tank¡¯ or the header if used water will flow through the Lateral and the Loop of POROUS . Water will ooze out from the Loop of POROUS wetting the soil around the tree. The oozing will be automatically controlled by the qty. of water absorbed by the roots of the Tree. This process will be continuous. The soil will be wet as per requirement

DO'S AND DON'T

Dewpore Pipe, when used properly, has shown that it :

  1. Saves upto 70 % water when properly used.
  2. Promotes healthier roots & better growth.
  3. Increases crop, vegetable and fruit yields because it provides required moisture at all times.
  4. Water Directly Reaches Root Zone Thus Encourages Deeper & Extensive Root Development.
  5. Continuous Moisture Level Eliminates Shocks Of Wet/Dry Cycles.
  6. Liquid fertilizer and pesticides can be added in the water tank.
  7. In horticulture, the continuous moisture when maintained with organic mulching using leaves, gives excellent vermiculture and natural fertilizer.
  8. The pipe cannot be damaged by rats and other rodents, because it is underground.

Important areas to consider

  1. Ensure continuous water supply is available to keep soil moist.
  2. Avoid wet and dry cycles
  3. Do not use any suspended particles in the water like dissolving fertilizer etc.
  4. Use gravity of tank at 20 feet height wherever possible. Or use pump at least once a day (for crops which need moist soil)
  5. It works best in loamy or sandy loamy soil.
